why_metro_is_best

  • Metro Taxi is the most technologically-advanced, reliable, full-service taxi company in Connecticut.

  • Metro Taxi's same-digit phone numbers make it easy for customers to contact us whenever they need transportation: 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

  • Metro Taxi's vehicles are clean, well-maintained four-door sedans and minivans.

  • Metro Taxi's computer dispatch system uses GPS tracking, minimizing the time clients wait for a cab.

  • Metro Taxi's expanded customer service department is equipped with a state-of-the-art telecommunications system to enhance communication between customers, service representatives and drivers.

  • Metro Taxi routinely checks weather and traffic conditions to advise our drivers of the safest and most direct routes.

Metro Taxi continues to play an active role in the many communities it serves by sponsoring neighborhood events, youth sports teams, holiday toy drives and supporting communities and educational initiatives. No different from our business hours, for us, the giving season is all year long; 24/7.

Gil Gets a Downpour of Applause from W.H. Rotarians

Bill and Isabelle Scalzi (left), co-owners of Metro Taxi in West Haven -- the "all 7's" cab company --  called 8 when they wanted local TV talent to speak at the West Haven Rotary Club's luncheon.  WTNH News Channel 8 Meteorologist Gil Simmon's talk weathered a storm of questions from interested and enthusiastic Rotarians who gave him a downpour of applause. Shown here is Ralph Aschettino, W.H.Rotary Club president (far right).

The Metro Taxi team had a great time at the 2010 St. Patrick's Day Parade.
Thank you to all the Parade spectators who beared the gusty weather.

In the left photo, the entire Metro Taxi team waits for the parade to begin. On the right, banner carriers, Marlena Prast and Jeremy Scalzi leading the 2010 St. Patricks Day Parade.

This year Metro Taxi kicked-off two successful URide Safe® Card campaigns at the University of New Haven and Southern Connecticut State University promoting "making safe decisions".  Kudos to all the students and parents for supporting this campaign! The URide Safe® Card is a personal debit card dedicated solely to a safe ride home.  The account can easily be accessed and managed online.
The card is FREE.

Metro Taxi was proud to be a corporate sponsor of the 2010 St. Patrick’s Day Parade. We are one of the corporate sponsors who helped save New Haven’s keepsake parade. The parade is the 6th oldest in the nation and officially recognized by the Library of Congress. This year we featured CT's first wheelchair-accessible taxi, Metro Access. It's a service that has changed lives and one that we're especially proud of.  To read more, check out the Metro Access section of our site.

Greening Our Routine Greening Our Routine On Feb. 24, 2010 the regional publication, Business New Haven, feted 20 of Greater New Haven's "Green Makers" for bringing sustainability into their thinking and planning across all aspects of business operations. At the Yale School of Forestry's Kroon Hall, Metro Taxi received Business New Haven's 2010 Green Business Award in Transportation. Connecticut's largest, full-service taxi company was cited for introducing a hybrid electric taxi cab, creating a suite of charge and debit cards to reduce paper consumption, recycling 3,000 gallons of used motor oil per year to heat its seven-bay Service Department and for working with CL&P to retrofit the West Haven headquarters with energy-efficient lighting.

on August 23 at The Cornell Scott Memorial Golf Classic.

Community Health Network of Connecticut Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit, charitable organization. The Foundation supports and promotes programs and activities that fundamentally improve the health status of the people living in Connecticut.

We hope you join us by supporting this great event!
